Description
This research is trying to fight antibiotic resistance by finding antimicrobials in soil. A soil sample collected from a neighborhood in Shawnee. Soil was brought to the lab, there serial dilution and antibiotic screenings were used to search for antimicrobial bacterial candidates. The bacterial candidates were tested against safe relative ESKAPE pathogens to see if there was a zone of inhibition indicative of antimicrobial activity. A bacterial candidate will be identified through sequencing.
