Description

At JCCC, some runoff water from the JCCC parking lots and parking garages flow down through a water basin to produce cleaner water. We would think that runoff water from where we walk, drive, and throw our trash away everyday would have a higher quantity of metals and harmful properties. However, throughout our time testing runoff water samples that are pre-basin, we began to question if the water is really as contaminated as we would expect it to be. Our results from testing our water sample have concluded that the levels of metals and other elements this water contains are mostly all in the “ok range”. So, if these water samples aren’t as bad as we think, do we really need the basin?
