Description
Studies have shown that there is a correlation between sociability in dogs and the presence of a gene on chromosome 6. In this study, student groups observed dogs at a nearby animal shelter and monitored their outwardly expressed friendliness towards those familiar to them and those unfamiliar to them. After the behavior test, DNA samples were collected. The DNA was extracted and amplified using PCR. The “friendliness” gene was confirmed after examining a gel electrophoresis.
