Description
The Protein Structure Initiative has aided in the determination of over 9000 protein structures. However, a large amount of protein function remains unannotated. A protein’s structure can typically provide indicative insights of their function. Protein 1s12 was analyzed/explored by incorporating PDB, BLAST, CLEAR, FoldSeek, and InterPro. 1s12 shows strong structural alignment to proteins found in the organism Thermotoga maritima; especially ribosomal-processing cysteine protease Prp. Given the degree of specificity and similarity, it is likely that 1s12 exhibits functionality as ribosomal-processing cysteine protease Prp.
