Description
Microbiology research is important because it helps me identify and study microorganisms that affect my health. Throughout this course module, I have been able to detect various pathogens, including those that cause disease. In week three, I learned how to determine infection levels by diluting and counting bacteria. In week five, I was shown how to calibrate a microscope and identify bacteria through their cell structure. In week six, I was able to test antibiotics effectiveness when grown in pure cultures. In week seven, I was able to utilize both gram positive and gram negative stains to classify various bacteria. Finally, in week nine, I learned how to observe genetic material.
