Description
To test the effects of scarification on seed germination after stratification. In hopes of finding ways to improve the germination of milkweed seeds to butterfly seeds. The decreasing population of monarch butterflies proves their young is unable to survive till adulthood, we hope to increase growth to restore their population. We scarified before seeds before and after stratification. We collected data on the quality and rate of germination of the seeds. That scarification has no effect on milkweed germination. That butterfly milkweed benefits more stratification than common milkweed. More testing on how stratification affects butterfly milkweed germination. Compared to conman milkweeds germination. Generating more milkweed growth to help the monarch butterfly population.
