Description

Sheet metal is widely used in commercial applications due to its easy malleability, simple fabrication, high strength, and suitability for large-scale production. We see sheet metal in everyday applications such as tables, ovens, washers, dryers, automobile bodies, water bottles, fridges, and HVAC components. In this project, I want to dig into the manufacturing and mass production of my lamp. I will discuss the process from material selection to cutting, forming, joining, and finishing the metal product. I will also go over the best possible layout for cutting the sheet metal to minimize metal waste during the manufacturing process of this lamp.
