Description

The rise of antibiotic resistance in hospitals has created an urgent need for different types of antibiotics. In this study, we used safe relatives of the ESKAPE (the six most antibiotic-resistant bacteria in hospitals) to test against isolated bacteria found in soil. Our results indicated that the soil found in Overland Park, KS, at the specific coordination points provided shows an inhibitory property towards Staphylococcus epidermis. These findings suggest we could find more antibiotics to fight the growing resistance.
