Description

My research for this semester is important because it has taught me how to find bacteria that combat antibiotic resistance. So far I have found one bacteria from soil outside my apartment complex that showed antibiotic resistance to multiple of the safe relative ESKAPE pathogens. To get to this point of narrowing down my bacteria a lot of testing had to happen. I made many master plates and streak plates involving the ESKAPE pathogens so I could figure out which of my twelve candidates would be the best option for this project. One of my candidates showed the best results to three of the ESKAPE pathogens which include, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli, and Enterococcus faecalis. These results show that this bacteria candidate could be used to fight against antibiotic resistance bacteria.
