Description

I used a few soil samples (one provided and one that I had to provide) and isolate plates with countable colonies for finding antibiotic resistant bacteria. I have used various colonies and tested them for inhibition with safe relative bacteria. Once finding inhibition, I now need to use that sample (or multiples if possible) to streak a plate and eventually find out what kind of bacteria using PCR (Polymerase chain reaction). I was able to find inhibition during one of the tests I did with dirt that came from provided dirt instead of one I brought. I tested the provided dirt bacteria against Staphylococcus epidermidis and noticed inhibition. After finding the zone of inhibition, it was time to make a streak plate and will be using PCR to isolate and see what kind of bacteria the sample is.
