Description
Sheet metal is all around us, from air ducts to car bodies. This is because of its versatility. Sheet metal can be cut, bent and welded into many shapes. This project explores the fabrication processes involved in creating a the body of a lamp. I will create a layout pattern for the lamp which could be used to create the lamp from sheet metal. I will then optimize this pattern to utilize the sheet metal as efficiently as possible during manufacturing. While doing this, I will calculate the waste percentage. The poster will present this whole process, showing the progress through each step.
