Description
From cars to HVAC to the roofing on barns and buildings, sheet metal is everywhere around us. Now I am attempting to create a smaller form of art and capture its malleability and ability to be shaped to design and build a lamp. By using one continuous piece of sheet metal I will have a design that will take a cut piece of metal that is able to be bent and cut into a lamp without the need for welding or screws. This layout is almost perfectly a rectangle which makes it very optimal in preserving sheet metal in order to minimize waste. This lamp will have similar features to what you would find in a street lamp. The common street lamp was the inspiration for this design. This lamp will be a perfect display of modern art using a piece of material that has been used in this industry for many decades.
