Description

This study will examine the difference in interest in studying abroad between domestic and international students at JCCC. Studying abroad is a dream come true for many American students, but what about international students? Are they interested in studying abroad, that is from the United States to another country, or do they consider the US to be their study abroad experience? Based on this, our research question would be: Is there a difference in the proportion of students interested in studying abroad among domestic and international students? The response variable is a categorical variable measuring whether student is interested in studying abroad (YES or NO). Additional survey questions will examine feasibility and barriers to studying abroad to provide background to the question: Is interest in studying abroad among international students different than interest among domestic students? A survey for JCCC students will be conducted and shared via resources such as the international students office and global engagement program at JCCC as well as being shared in person and online.
