Description
This research is important for finding antibiotics for pathogens that are highly deadly and resistant to everyday antibiotics. Soil has millions of different bacterial colonies, and one colony could be the cure to a deadly pathogen. This semester students found colonies that inhibit the growth of these deadly pathogens, known as safe relatives of ESKAPE pathogens, and studied them. This study found that candidate number six was able to inhibit one of the safe relatives known as Escherichia coli.
