Description
What is in an apple? Nutritional wise, many vitamins and nutrients that are said to keep the doctor away. However for chemists, it is a question of what makes up these molecules that create the apple. For the class of Organic Chemistry I, this was tested out by comparing the numerous structures of chemicals of a given apple via NMR of a broken down apple pre and post dehydration. Many of the chemicals are a given for an apple like arsenic from the seeds, while others pose a question of where do apples really come from and what do we really consume.
