Description
Since 2000, over 9 thousand proteins have been cataloged by crystalline structure via the Proteins Structure Initiative; however, the function of many recorded proteins within the database remains unknown. The Protein Database and other bioinformatic tools, such as BLAST, InterPro, Dali and Foldseek, will be utilized for protein research. The goal of the project is to identify a chosen protein and determine its biological function based on bioinformatic research and course objectives.
