Description

Antibiotic resistance growing issues. Because of this a soil sample was collected to find bacteria that might produce antibiotics, as soil is full of bacteria . To isolate the bacteria, used a dilution was used method and the colonies was observed for differences in size, shape, and color as well as zones of inhibition , which could indicate unique strains. To test for antibiotic production, the cross-streak method was performed , which showed that some colonies might produce antibiotics based on their ability to inhibit other bacteria’s growth. Next, additional tests will be performed to confirm the antibiotic activity and identify the bacterial strain. If successful, this research could help in discovering new antibiotics, which are needed to fight resistant bacteria.
