Description
This project was created to find antibiotic-resistant bacteria in different soil samples. Antibiotic resistance is a major health crisis because bacteria are adapting to antibiotics and mutating faster than humans can keep up with. My sample was collected from the backyard of three 21-year-old males' house, underneath a tree. I collected a sample and used serial dilution to find appropriate potential candidates for screening. During this research, I screened multiple candidates using ESKAPE pathogens to find their antibiotic activity. If the bacteria shows resistance to the pathogens, this indicates a positive candidate. In the end, I hope my research has a positive impact to create new antibiotics.
