Description
What makes some dogs friendly and some dogs not friendly? This is a question JCCC students investigated this semester. Some dogs have a gene insert for hypersocial behavior while others do not. Daisy, a 4 month malinois, and Ronnie, a 1 year old beagle, were tested for the “friendliness gene”. Multiple tests helped us conclude if a dog had the “friendliness” gene through DNA extraction, PCR and gel electrophoresis.
