Description
Sheet metal is used for a variety of purposes from small everyday objects like tin cans to as important as structural components in buildings. We see sheet metal used for many different things including; roofs, airplanes, plumbing systems, intricate parts in electronics and even art projects. This project is intended to explain how sheet metal is used in manufacturing many items. A layout pattern for the manufacturing of a lamp will be shown. This layout will be made in such a way as to minimize the waste of sheet metal in the process. It is very important to minimize waste as this promotes higher return on investment for the manufacturer by reducing cost of excess material. It can also help reduce the amount of materials going into landfills and harming our environment.
