Description
The purpose of this research was to discover new classes of antibiotics. Soil was collected and bacteria in the soil was separated out. Each individual type of bacteria was then tested against six different safe strains of ESKAPE pathogens. If any of the bacteria produced zones of inhibition against the safe strains further tests were done, such as, Gram stains, endospore stains, and PCR gene testing to find out more about the bacteria. Unfortunately, none of the bacteria in the following paper were found to be new antibiotics.
