Description
Because of antibiotic overuse by health care facilities, to treat patients, certain bacteria have developed resistance to antibiotic. The purpose of our experiments is to find new antibiotics, which can kill bacteria and treat patients with bacterial infections. In our experiments we cultured bacteria from the soil that we found in our back yards. We will examine the bacteria that we isolated from the soil and test it against the bacteria that are relatively safe than ESKAPE pathogen. I hope that we can find bacteria that would be used to treat infectious diseases. I collected soil sample from my back yard, serially diluted one gram of soil and then spread it on 50% TSA agar plate. I am hoping to find a good candidate that could be useful and can kill the bacteria that cause infectious diseases.
