Description

In the Chinese Compendium of Materia Medica, the soil under a wall mixed with water can treat ulceration of limbs and diarrhea. So the purpose of my research is to discover a kind of bacteria which can inhabit or kill bacteria slowly. Chinese Compendium of Materia Medica is a Drug Record document written by famous doctor Shizhen Li about 600 years ago. During my experiment of scanning for an antibiotic in soil sample. I found some of my bacteria can live with Staphylococcus Epidermidis well in the first week, but some Staphylococcus Epidermidis disappear in a second week, but other bacterial sample lives well with my candidates. So I think there must some bacteria in my soil sample can kill or inhabit Staphylococcus Epidermidis Slowly rather than tradition bacteria kill others immediately. My research will continue in this direction and found out the type of bacteria, and what it would do in human society. As recorded in Chinese Compendium of Materia Medica, the soil under wall do not have toxicity, it may indicate a better solution for human to defeat infection rather than tradition antibiotic which can lead to resistance of bacteria and do harm to human health. So the purpose of my research is to identify an antibiotic-producing bacterium which can kill bacterial slowly.
