Description

For the JCCC STEM poster symposium, the methods that will be conducted by the Researchers will involve forming a hypothesis by using monitoring devices to search for flying squirrels. The purpose of conducting this type of research is to justify the knowledge that flying squirrels are located here in Kansas. There might be a question about how the researchers will conduct such methods to collect such data on flying squirrels. The researchers will use a non-invasive sampling to test the hypothesis. The devices that will be used in this research will be trail cameras and acoustic monitoring systems to collect data. What the researchers expect to find with using such methods are anticipated results that will lead to evidence of flying squirrels. This conducted research will have the potential to prove that flying squirrels are located not only in the states that are across North America, Central America, and countries like Asia, and Siberia, but also here in Kansas as well. There might also be another question that relates to who might be able to use such findings of the researcher's findings. Well, with such data, the findings of the data collected by our research teams on flying squirrels will be communicated to management teams that are also doing research on this topic.
