Description
Water quality plays an important role in public health, as contaminated water can cause illness, expose people to harmful chemicals, and harm ecosystems. This research is focused on assessing water quality at multiple sites within the Kansas City Metro area. Samples were analyzed in the lab using testing strips (Varify, Testpert, and SJ Wave) and other methods to measure heavy metals, pH levels, hardness, and more. Our results showed elevated Lead levels, along with traces of other metals. It highlights the importance of scientific communication, public engagement, and community awareness in addressing water quality issues.
