Description
A strain of Bacillus valezenis was previously isolated by a JCCC microbiology student. This bacterium was shown to produce an antibiotic that inhibited the growth of other bacteria when grown competitively. In this project, we worked to extract and isolate the antibiotic compounds produced by this strain of bacteria.
