Description
Antibiotic resistance is an ongoing problem which inhibits the ability to treat infection. The research conducted is to search for new bacteria that show metabolic byproducts of antibiotic resistance to safe relatives of the ESKAPE pathogens. I started this search by isolating bacteria from my soil sample. Then challenged my bacteria candidates to the safe relatives of the ESKAPE pathogens. While several candidates showed signs of inhibition to some of the ESKAPE pathogens, candidate CS07 showed inhibition to multiple of the ESKAPE pathogens. The candidate I chose was CS07 due to its sign of inhibition to all the ESKAPE pathogens except Enterococcus faecalis.
