Description
Many antibiotics used today are a result from what is found in soil. In this project I investigate soil and the microbes found in it. Any microbe that displayed qualities of antibiotics were challenged against common pathogens in the lab to test whether or not it could truly be a candidate for an antibiotic. I have one candidate to present that was able to defer the growth of Escherichia coli, Acinetobacter baylyi, Enterococcus faecalis, and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
