Description
This experiment was conducted in hopes of finding a new antibiotic by isolating the antimicrobial produced by Paenibacillus polysaccharolyticus. This strain of bacteria was previously shown to inhibit E. coli, E. aerogenes, P. putida, and M. smegmatis when grown competitively. We are exploring methods to successfully isolate the antimicrobial produced by this bacterium.
