Description

In the search for a successful antibiotic, we studied the antibacterial compounds produced by a strain of Brevibacillus laterosporus previously isolated by a JCCC microbiology student. This bacterium was shown to inhibit the growth of both E. coli and P. putida when grown competitively. The goal of this project was to isolate and confirm the isolation of the antibiotic produced by this bacterium.
