Description
An A Horizon soils sample was collected from the Rock Creek Subdivision in southern Lansing Kansas, approximately 50 meters north of Ninemile Creek. Four samples, of approximately 1 gram each, were serial diluted and placed on ten Agar plates to promote growth. On these plates, 12 possible candidates were observed to produce a zone of inhibition. Antibiotic screening continued with these microbes. Once placed in direct competition with friendly relatives of known pathogenic microbes, two candidates demonstrated the ability to inhibit bacteria growth.
