Description

Antibiotics are created by helpful microbes discovered in the dirt, as well as microbes that have been synthesized once obtained from dirt. For my project this semester, I am trying to discover a microorganism that inhibits the growth of potential pathogens. This topic is important, as pathogens have become more resistant to current antibiotics. Throughout the semester, I have collected dirt samples, and from that, grown bacteria and isolated potential interests. For this project, I am testing my bacteria of interest against safe pathogen relatives, to see if the growth of these relatives is inhibited.
