Description

The purpose of this experiment is to be able to identify a possible antibiotic in a soil sample that we brought in from a random place. Due to the high amount of antibiotic resistance that is sweeping the nation, we are now trying to find antibiotics in everyday soil. Not all the soil samples with have an antibiotic but there is hope. The soil sample that I decided to test out came from the a hospital, just right outside where there is plenty of sun and where flowers are grown so there the soil is also treated perfectly. In the beginning of the experiment, I noticed bacteria that would of have been a possible candidate but as experiments pass it failed. I decided to change my bacteria, now having two possible candidates. In the end, I will be presenting a presenting where different bacteria’s antibiotic possibilities are tested. There is hope for the future; will any of them be the chosen one?
