Description
Since over the last 20 years a number of diseases have become resistant to antibiotics, my research is an attempt to find secondary metabolite-producing bacteria that can produce a new antibiotic. In this project bacteria has been collected and isolated from a soil sample and then grown in the lab. There, it will be tested against antibiotic resistant pathogens to determine if it is indeed antibiotic producing. I anticipate that I will have found at least one secondary metabolite-producing bacteria.
