Description
Curtobacterium oceanosedimentum was previously shown to inhibit the growth of S. epidermidis when grown competitively using a cross streak method. Organic extracts from Curtobacterium oceanosedimentum showed inhibition towards S. epidermidis in subsequent bioassays using TLC–bioautography. Further work to separate the components in the extract mixture and isolate the antimicrobial compound using both column chromatography and TLC will be discussed.
