Description
Antibiotic resistance is a plague of today's modern world. The overuse of antibiotics has caused string of bacteria to develop species of bacteria that heavily resist most of our modern antibiotics. For the past couple months I have been looking for bacteria in our soil that secrete antimicrobial chemicals. These chemicals show signs of inhibiting growth in other bacteria and can potentially be used as a new antibiotic to use against these resilient pathogenic bacteria.
