We will discuss threshold concepts of writing studies and how these concepts can be used to re-imagine how we teach composition. Specifically, we will discuss how one can adapt common assignments, such as rhetorical analyses or argumentative essays, or typical classroom activities, such as discussions of writing processes or genre, to take threshold concepts into consideration.
