Location
RC 157
Start Date

Description
In this time of the Social Web 2.0 and “big data,” researchers have access to large public image-sets of social media imagery that may be used for research in any field with a social element. Content analysis using imagery is complex and multidimensional and interpretive. In this interactive session, the audience will select a topic, capture image sets in multiple ways, and engage their visual-analytical senses to begin to draft an analytical approach and rubric. This approach will involve both bottom-up coding and top-down coding. (This method can be applied to the evaluation of image upload assignments.)
