Description
With the emergence of antibiotic resistant infectious diseases, it’s important that we pursue research and findings of new, potentially life-saving antibiotics to combat this drawback. By collecting a sample of soil I was able to follow my own investigation of possible antibiotic materials. By diluting a sample of the soil, selecting viable candidates and exploring the individual morphologies through staining, I was able to narrow down to a few promising candidates. I will be testing for genetic components and sequencing data for further study of this soil.
