Description

Antibiotic resistance is a rapidly rising problem in the world today. Due to the great hindrance these bacteria cause in people’s recovery from infection, finding new sources for antibiotics which can counteract those resistant is vital. Using soil found near my house, I performed many experiments to see if any candidates existed for a new source of antibiotics. I found two potential candidates after screening certain species against the safe relatives of ESKAPE pathogens. This suggests that either one or both of the species could be capable of killing the aforementioned dangerous pathogens.
