Description

Resistance related to antibiotics in our society has been an issue as it has grown to find infections to be harder to get rid of with the drugs we have today. Many different bacteria's cause this issue as not all can be fought off with our antibiotics produced to this day. Using a soil sample from my backyard, I performed experiments to see different bacteria's in my sample that can help create new sources for antibiotics. When screened against the safe relatives of ESKAPE pathogens I was able to see one of my bacteria's show a zone of inhibition. With further tests done to my sample we will see the makeup of this bacterium. This shows that it can be a possible candidate for the result we are looking for, being a new helpful antibiotic.
