Description

Loamy soil was obtained from a creek bed in Overland Park, Kansas. The sample produced unique violet colonies, of which may inhibit the growth of Enterococcus faecalis. This research may be useful in the future as an antibiotic used to inhibit the growth of certain pathogens. Further identification and metabolic characterization of this organism will be pursued.
