Description

With the growing antibiotic resistant crisis, new antibiotic materials need to be found. Some promising bacterium, that was found in a field in Maine, produces a metabolite that inhibits antibiotic resistant bacterium. So, with this new bacterium found, university’s around the countries have started to search for bacterium in the local area, and find promising subjects and test them against ESKAPE pathogens. Which are close relatives to deadly pathogens that are antibiotic resistant. If they inhibit growth of the pathogen, it will be extracted and run through a PCR to determine its composition.
