Stories of Kansas Women
Real and fictitious Kansas women from the 1800s tell their stories through books, diaries, legal records and newspaper articles. We'll visit with Laura from the Little House on the Prairie; Miriam Colt who kept a diary when she moved to Neosho, Kansas, in 1862; Carrie Nation and her "baseball bat;" Williana Hickman, who spent the winter of 1877 in a dugout in Nicodemus; the "Soiled Doves" and wives of Dodge City and other interesting Kansas women.
