Why groups make bad decisions, and what you can do about it
Abstract
This research work focuses on three pitfalls of group work and ways to address these for better group decision making. The three pitfalls are “the hidden profile paradigm,” group polarization, and groupthink. Some solutions include using tactical uses of inquiry, constructive conflict, sharing private information, and conducting a premortem.
