Description
Experienced online instructors intuitively know that the students who are the most active in the online class are often the most successful, yet their conclusions are based on anecdotal data. They don’t know if some types of interactions are more beneficial than others. The presenter will share findings of her doctoral research examining tracking data from a learning management system to investigate student behavior in online courses. The goal is to use this information to develop guidelines for identifying at risk students in the first two weeks of class to increase their chances of success. Some evidence based suggestions for course design and delivery will be included.
